My Hero Academia Review

My Hero Academia has become increasingly popular over the years, and I had never gotten myself to watch it until recently. The My Hero Academia world is one where many people are born with unique powers known as “Quirks.” People with useful or powerful Quirks can use these powers to one day become superheroes. Izuku Midoriya, the main protagonist, has aspirations to one day become a hero, but he was born without a Quirk. The anime follows Midoriya’s journey of trying to become a great Hero. The story is simple and straightforward, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The pacing of the story in My Hero Academia is where I tend to have problems with the series. Villains are built up and defeated way to quickly in the series, and you don’t really learn much about them. One episode a new villain is introduced and the next episode they are defeated, and Midoriya and his classmates are back to normal life. The fights we do see may not last long, but they are beautifully animated and put together with extraordinary soundtracks that give the listener goosebumps.

Overall I think My Hero Academia deserves the hype that it has been getting lately, and it will most likely become even more popular and remembered as time goes on. If you haven’t watched My Hero Academia I recommend catching up on it so you can be excited for the seasons to come.
